Expertise in oil sands… and beyond.
Oil Sands Imaging (OSI) partners with E&P companies operating in Canada and around the world. Our expertise in seismic interpretation brings greater understanding to their reservoir projects.
The majority of our work involves in situ oil sands development in Alberta. Increasingly, companies operating in other unconventional and conventional plays (including potash mining) are realizing the value of our services, and now represent a growing part of our business.
Industry Sectors served by OSI:
- In situ oil sands
- Bitumen in carbonates
- Shale gas
- Tight oil
- Deep conventional oil & gas
- Conventional oil and gas
- Potash mining
Services:
The complete scope of work includes all well and seismic analysis required to provide our clients with facies and fluid representations from 2D or 3D seismic data in their zone(s) of interest including:
- Well data QC and analysis;
- Seismic review and QC (data conditioning recommendations for seismic processors as required);
- AVO, Inversion, LMR, Multi-attribute / Neural-network applications for rock-property estimations; and,
- Calibration and classification of derived attributes for reservoir property prediction.
Final deliverables include:
- Facies and Fluids volumes in SEGY format
- Any AVO, Inversion or multi-attribute intermediate volumes requested
- Additional attribute volumes (as required):
- Rock properties
- Geomechanical properties (brittleness, fractures)
- Porosity
- Permeability
- A confidential report summarizing the process and results.
We put the latest Rock Physics and Geomechanics theory into practice. Feasibility studies, including crossplot analysis and forward modeling, can be performed for any attribute of interest.
